Thank You Nancy

This card was inspired by Nancy's beautiful cards. I just bought a new circle cutter. It's fun, I've wanted one for quite some time now. Thank you Michael's & your 50% off coupon : )

I had a helper today!

I made this card in about 5 minutes. It's funky and fun. I used a small piece of scrap paper I had laying in my scrap bin. I had a little helper today... Max, one of my furry friends. He likes to lay on my table and watch me scrap, usually falling asleep (I must be boring to watch lol I take too long to make a decision). I have a question... does anyone have any tips on how to attach vellum with glue? I usually use brads or eyelets... but I'm not sure of a product I can use to attach it without being able to see the glue... any tips?

My Mind's Eye Seasonal Block Kit

I bought this at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section for $11.99 (originally $20). It was a lot of fun to make, and super easy.

Cute Pocket Card

This is a pocket card I made yesterday. I haven't stamped anything on the insert yet, I'm not sure who I'm going to send it to just yet. Once I figure it out I will add a stamp : )

New Ribbon Storage

I wish I could take credit for this idea, but I can't... I got it from Nicole Heady's type pad blog. She has lots of inspiration for organizing (not to mention her beautiful cards & layouts). I absolutely LOVE this idea! I used to have my ribbon on dowel rods inside a photo storage box, it was nice, but my collection just wouldn't fit anymore. This is wonderful. I bought the glass penny candy jars at Walmart (for about $6 each) and got the wooden clothes pins at a Dollar Tree by my house. I bought 2 jars to begin with (one for light colors & one for dark colors). I wound the ribbon around the cloths pins and secured with a straight pin. I think they look pretty and nice and organized.

Mini Matchbox Photo box

I love looking for new ways to alter things you usually throw away. These are made from mini match boxes... I am a huge candle nut... I use a lot of matches... I just couldn't part with the little boxes.

Fady and I decided to have a friend use our digital camera to take our engagement pictures (trying to save a little money). The box with the picture of the two of us I gave to my mom. That picture had 3 rays of sunlight around us and between us. My Grandpa passed away a couple of weeks before we had our pictures taken. My mom thought the 3 rays were symbolic of my 3 grand parents who have been very influential in my life (and all of who have passed).

That same day, there was a full rainbow that just appeared behind us while we were taking out pictures on the beach. The picture of my mom looking at the rainbow with my dog is one of my favorite pictures of my mom. I made that box for myself. That is the first project I've made for myself (other than my scrapbooks).

These were VERY easy to make. just a few scraps of ribbon & paper. I printed the pictures small from my computer...

Engagement Party Invitations

This is what I did for our engagement party invitations. We had a small private engagement party at a local Mexican restaurant. It went really well, everyone had a great time. I used pictures I printed from my computer and paper I got on sale at Hobby Lobby.I sent the cards in a vellum envelope (which everyone loved!)
